Guidance Announcements FREE ACT/SAT Practice Test!Kaplan is holding a free ACT/SAT Combo Practice Test on Saturday, November 14 at 9:00 a.m. for all Knox County students. The test will take 3 hours and 45 minutes, and there will be a follow-up seminar for students and parents on November 18 to receive score reports and examine test results. These reports will include how students performed in each category of the ACT and SAT, question types within each category, explanations of what scores mean, and which exam they are predicted to do best on. The seminar will also provide helpful test day strategies and go over sample questions from each test. Please download the flyer and registration form on this site (shown below as "Practice Test K12 Flier") and return it to your student's SLC School Counselor or mail it in to the address provided. Registration forms are also available through your student's Counselor.
Attention Seniors: College Search WorkshopSeniors: If you are unsure about where to apply to college or want to learn more information about different colleges, please see your counselor to sign up for a College Search Workshop that will be held during Enrichment over the next few weeks.
Knox Achieves ScholarshipAttention Seniors! If you are possibly interested in attending Pellissippi, Roane State, or Walters State, please see your counselor or Ms. Terreka to apply for the Knox Achieves Scholarship. Knox Achieves offers $2,000 annually and does not require a minimum grade point average (G.P.A) or ACT Score. This is an EXCELLENT opportunity for any students considering these three colleges! The deadline for application is October 30. 2009.
TN Governor's SchoolGovernor's School applications are due to Ms. Garrett no later than October 30, 2009. A meeting for all nominated students is being held Monday, September 21 during enrichment.
